This workshop presents an integrated approach to measuring circular economy (CE) performance and translating indicators into practical decision-making tools. It combines a structured scientific framework with an interactive gamified exercise. The workshop consists of two complementary parts. The first introduces a comprehensive CE indicator framework covering the product (nano), company (micro), and cluster or network (meso) levels. It spans all value-chain stages and integrates established circular strategies, including the 9R hierarchy. More than 200 indicators and 400 metrics are organized into clearly defined performance aspects aligned with recognized CE principles. A publicly available Excel tool (Zenodo, DOI) supports practical application in business, research, and policy contexts.

The second part applies this knowledge through an interactive card-based game. Participants match indicators, formulas, ecodesign requirements, and circular strategies across value-chain stages. In a final round, teams address simulated business challenges by selecting and combining appropriate indicators and strategies. By linking scientific rigor with hands-on applicability, the format connects measurement logic with strategic decision-making in an accessible yet analytically sound way. The workshop is relevant for industry representatives, sustainability managers, cluster organizations, policymakers, consultants, and researchers seeking to operationalize CE strategies through measurable metrics. It reduces confusion around circularity indicators, strengthens comparability, and supports data-driven circular transformation across business, science, and policy.

The workshop is part of DACE (Data Competence Center for Circular Economy Data - https://dace-info.de/ ) and will include introductory remarks and a project overview presented by representatives of the DACE consortium.
